Be Baptized!

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It’s a public declaration of how Jesus changed your life. Being baptized shows others that you’re dedicated to follow Jesus, and allows them to celebrate this decision with you. We celebrate baptisms at several Sunday services throughout the year. Email or talk to one of the pastors to learn more about baptism.

Worship Team

Worship is a big deal for us at First Methodist Church. When we gather as God’s people we want to lift high the name of Jesus through song, sermon and sacraments. There are many areas that you can get involved in this area:

Hospitality/ Food Team

Are you gifted in throwing baby showers and hosting people? Are you good at making people feel loved and welcomed? Do you like food? Then this is the area for you. Everything from Family Dinners to Baby showers.

Media Team

Do you enjoy taking pictures? Are you constantly on social media? Do you have a passion and eye for web and app design? Or do you enjoy lighting and sound for events? This area is for you.

Event Team

Living in community and sharing love with the community is a big deal at First Methodist Church. We love our family, but always looking for ways to grow our family. If you like planning parties, or events for new people to attend, or like to have “family reunions” with the people you love most, this serving opportunity is right for you.

Wonderful

Wednesday Night Dinner

Wonderful Wednesday Night Dinner is all about serving our friends and neighbor a wholesome meal. We feel that each meal has that special taste you might experience on a campout with your family. For some reason the food just taste better. We are not professional cooks so there is a lot to chance as we prepare each week. We think we have a special advantage because we use a special ingredient called Love. We hope and pray the everyone that attends WWND will taste and experience the Love of Christ as they fellowship with one another. We serve by donation only so people can contribute what they can and no one is left out. God always blesses us with ample supplies. If you have not experienced WWND we invite you to be our guest and feel the warmth of the Love of Christ as you fellowship and enjoy a hot meal.

1stKids

First United Methodist Kids is a fun experience designed specifically for kids! We have age-appropriate classrooms and programs for newborns up to 6th grade. Our leaders and volunteers are background-checked and trained so that Journey Kids is the safest place for your child to enjoy and learn more about Jesus!

FUMY

FUMY is an exciting place for teens to grow and learn about their identity in Christ in a safe and structured environment. Our leaders and volunteers are background-checked and trained so that First United Methodist Youth is the safest place for your child to enjoy and learn more about Jesus!

Teams

Are you handy? Can you swing a hammer and fix anything? Or do you just wanna serve? This is the team for you. This team is also for the ones that love decorating or giving a room a makeover. With an aging building, this is a vital team!

Behind the scenes work is vital to our ministries!

United Women in Faith

The United Women in Faith are always looking for new members and improved ways to financially support the missions they give to annually! For many years, the UWF has hosted a Bazaar and Grandma’s Attic selling donated items by members of our church. This has made it possible for the UMW to meet their annual goals and to give to several ministries and missions. We welcome women of all generations to share fresh new ideas and to become members of our organization which supports women, children and youth in need. 

Prayer Team

Are you a prayer warrior? Do you feel closest to God when you are praying? We need people to meet each week to pray for our church, our community, our school district, our college, the sick and hurting, and for the people that have never experienced the love and grace of God.
